Security Deposit
All bookings are subject to a refundable security deposit to protect Owners against breakages, loss, damage, extra cleaning or unpaid local charges. By confirming a booking the Guest authorises the Owner to charge the value of any damage caused on presentation of photographic evidence and/or receipts for repair or replacement.
Notwithstanding the security deposit held, the Guest remains liable for the full cost of any repairs or replacements required or other losses incurred by the Owner due to accidental or negligent breakage, loss, damage or other injury to the Property and/or the contents therein. You are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on your arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, and/or rubbish disposal required may be charged against the security deposit.
Your Security Deposit will normally be refunded after two weeks following the end of your stay. Les Remparts will make an assessment of any damage or breakages within 72 hours of your departure.
We will notify you directly of the results if you booked directly with us. If you booked via Olivers’ Travels we will notify Oliver’s Travels with a detailed account of our costed findings (though please see below). As we maintain the property in excellent condition for our guests our policy is to charge the price for a new replacement for an item broken or damaged.
In the event that the damage is to the property we shall endeavour to obtain a quote from a local artisan for a repair/ replacement and in these instances it may not be possible to immediately secure the exact costing immediately following your departure.
Damage to some items can be expensive and guests are advised to treat all natural stone with care, particularly the worktops in the kitchen, the stone floors, the stone staircase and the stone fireplaces. If things break please keep the pieces!
Definition of ‘Wear & Tear’; normal wear and tear is something that happens through the regular use of the property. The items are not degrading because of any mistake or accident by the Guest; they simply have a limited usage lifetime.
